Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a modern grappling art which has its foundations in Japan. Varying from its original form, the strength of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is in its focus of technique and timing over size and strength to allow the practitioner to protect themselves against bigger, stronger opponents. This is accomplished through the application of takedowns, positional dominance, joint locks, and chokes.
By far, the biggest benefit to training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is learning how to control your own emotions, mind, and body while under stress. This is a skill set that transcends combat sport and can be carried off the mats and into everyday living.
